1. Midnight Bowling: This is one of the best out of all the games. It’s my second favorite next to pool/billiards. You bowl using the stylus, and can control the direction, speed, and spin of your ball.

There are a number of ways to play the bowling game. You can compete in a tournament or bowl a few balls for relaxation. The tournament is the most fun. Novice is the beginning tournament level, and you work your way up to pro. You can also choose from different ball weights, colors, and costumes. There are a lot of goodies locked away in the bowling game.

2. Midnight Pool / Billiards: This is my favorite Nintendo DS pool / billiards game. If you’ve played pool on Touchmaster 2 or Clubhouse Games, you will enjoy this one just as much if not more.

The pool / billiards game is stylus controlled. You can line up your shot with or without the guideline. I always use the guideline because I am a novice player. You can also change the angle to get a better view of your shot. There are various modes of play: instant play, arcade mode, story mode, and challenges. Midnight Play Pack is worth getting just for the pool / billiards game.

3. Platinum Solitaire: This is a terrific solitaire collection. The games include: Klondike, Golf, Pyramid, Free Cell, Yukon, and Spider Solitaire. You can play the games in Quick Mode or Casino Mode. Pick Quick Mode for a quick game, and Casino Mode when you want to bet and win money.

You move the cards with the stylus so playing is easy. The cards are also easy to see without straining your eyes. Anyone who enjoy solitaire card games will enjoy this collection.

4. Midnight Poker: This is a more than decent poker game. I have quite a few Nintendo DS poker games, and this is one of the best. Texas Hold Em, Omaha, and Omaha Hi-Lo are included. You can compete in a tournament or a cash game. For quick play just choose instant play mode.

Just like with the solitaire games, the poker cards are also easy to see. The interface is attractive and easy on the eyes. No straining your eyes to see the action. You can play the game using the stylus or the button controls. Don’t know how to play poker? That’s fine because the in-game poker tutorials will teach you the basics.

5. Block Breaker Deluxe: This is my least favorite game on the cartridge. It’s weak when compared to the others. You bounce a ball off of a small paddle at the bottom of the screen. When the ball hits one of the onscreen blocks the block disappears. Your goal is to get rid of all the blocks and move to the next level.

Storage – The Nintendo DSi was the first model of Nintendo’s handheld gaming consoles to come with built-in memory, as the console is equipped with 256 MB of internal flash memory.
The gizmo also allows users to use media functions by loading up their own SD/SDHC cards of up to 32 GB in size in a new card slot behind the cover on the right-side of the handheld.

The biggest effect on the battery is caused by using the backlight, which can be turned off in the main menu screen, or in selected games (such as Super Mario 64 DS).

To sustain the battery life in the midst of a game, users can close the Nintendo DSi system, putting the DSi in sleep mode that also pauses the game that is being played.

The battery is not replaceable and is designed to be removed only when it expires.

You will also have to hire specific heroes to lead your units and help you complete each quest. As you complete each quest, you will be rewarded with experience, gold and treasure!

If you prefer to play with other players rather than quest on your own, there are plenty of epic bosses roaming the world for you to summon and fight. Some monsters are weaker and can only be fought by you and your friends, while the more powerful bosses such as the World Hydra can be fought by a team consisting of anyone playing the game, making this feel epic with a great sense of teamwork and achievement. Killing these monsters will provide you with powerful followers, weapons and armor to make you stronger for future battles.

Another aspect of the game is the ability to attack other players, commonly known as the player-vs-player (PVP) portion of the game. There are 2 ways in which to fight other players: by invading them or dueling them.

Invasion represents all out war. You muster your friends, followers, heroes and equipment, and attack the other player. Or you can challenge them to honorable combat, dueling them mano-a-mano with your best weapons, armor and magic. And to the victor go the spoils!

The more successful you are at PVP and the more players you defeat, you will be able to climb the battle ranks. You start off as a lowly scout, but with persistence, you might be able to attain ranks such as knight, general and even duke! And with each rank you gain, you are entitled to special rewards that help you stand out from the crowd.

One thing that makes Castle Age different from typical games is that its contents are updated on a very regular basis. You are able to fight new monsters, face new bosses and find new treasures almost every week! The amount of constant updates and improvements that the developers provide to the game is what makes it really shine.

There is also an element of collectability and surprise in this game. Killing monsters gives you a chance of acquiring the coveted favor points. These favor points can be used to buy limited edition heroes and equipment that are only available for short periods of time. And if you’re feeling lucky, you can use these favor points to open treasure chests. You might find an unimpressive shield, or you could end up in control of an ultra-rare hero with the power of a demi-god!

In Settlement: Colossus, you are an exiled emperor who has to build a new empire from scratch out of its grass hut roots. Research through the ages as you create new technologies and upgrade existing ones in your quest to create the ultimate city in this city-building resource management and puzzle game hybrid.

The story in Settlement: Colossus begins with an aged king leading his hungry and sick band of followers across mountains in search of a new place to call home. They manage to find some nice open plains and decide to settle there. As you progress through the game though, you learn that the king used to be the emperor of a great and powerful nation… 300 years ago! Apparently he had been cursed by the gods and had lost his empire, and his story will unfold as you make your way through the game.

Settlement: Colossus is a curious game that mixes different genres such as resource management, empire-building, puzzle and hidden objects; and it does it quite well indeed. Overall, it has that empire-building feel as you research technologies and advance through the ages… from learning to gather and farm in the ancient age to constructing more sophisticated buildings such as potters and forges in the classical era.

There is also resource management in Settlement: Colossus, as you need to find food to feed your people every turn, and raw materials such as wood, clay and bricks to construct tools and buildings. You will have to decide whether you want to spend a turn stocking up on food, or getting bricks for a new building, or gathering new materials to research new technology.

The technology research makes the game more interesting as well. At the start of the game, the only way to find food is to gather berries from the forest. Once you research forges and are able to create farming tools, you can then research and build a farm to provide another more efficient source of food. Further research as you progress through the ages will provide farming upgrades that will allow you to become more efficient and collect more food each turn.

In normal resource management games, when you decide to gather food or wood, you will usually have your minions do it for you. In Settlement: Colossus, you have to do it yourself! Every turn, you have the option of choosing what resource you want to gather, be it clay and brick from the caves, or berries and wood from the forest for example. Once you make your choice, you are then taken to the scene in question, and you have to find the raw materials that are blended into the background in a hidden object game. You will also have a chance of finding special items in these hidden object scenes. Some will start side quests, while others can be combined to form artifacts that make your civilization more efficient.

There are also mini-puzzles in the game. When you are able to gain access to a new location or technology, you may be confronted with a puzzle to solve before being able to access the new stuff. For example, you will need to solve a logic puzzle in order to rebuild the bridge separating the settlement from a cavern area which contains clay and ore.

The graphics in Settlement: Colossus are bright, sharp and attractive. The art in the hidden object scenes are the stand-outs in the game. They include various weather features and little critters such as frogs and dragonflies moving around the place. There is limited animation in the game, but what it does have is good enough to make the game feel immersive and engaging. The pleasant and uplifting soundtrack doesn’t hurt either.

Overall, this game is pretty unique in that it tries to combine the resource management and hidden object game genres, and I think it has succeeded pretty well. If you like empire-building and resource management games, but get too stressed with the real-time gameplay and the clock counting down, then Settlement: Colossus is great with its slower pace and its interesting puzzles.

These reviews are done by any number of individuals, websites or business that revolves around the innumerable characteristics of the gaming industry. And reviews on every single game has to provide some kind of useful information to not only the users of these games, but also the reviews work as an advertising post and putting the game out there for potential new gamers that may be interested in the games.

The majority of these reviews are done for online gaming sites, and various e-zines that relay that information to a wide number of people. Some examples of these sites and search engines are: Tech TV, Game Spot, Game Zone, IGN Games, Game Rankings, Computer Games Online, Business Week/Game Room, Gamers, Review Center etc. And these are just a few of the popular reviews that are available to the public. There are actually millions of sites on line that give out this information, and the games are reviewed by a lot of players also, so you always get great feedback on the games of your choice.

Pros

• This game stands out because of the GRAPHICS. They are absolutely GORGEOUS. Using still backgrounds (that look to be from the movie), the TinkerBell world is absolutely gorgeous.
• Music is nice and the animations for the fairies are spectacular.
• Tinkerbell is easy to move around and looks great flying.
• Its simple, but pretty and has no violence either.

Cons

• This game requires you to be able to read at a second or third grade level.
• Once you start the game and began playing it becomes difficult to stop. It’s like the magic of the fairy world has come alive!
• A certain amount of dexterity is required to accomplish some of the game features.

The reviews are in and Walt Disney has created an absolutely wonderful product for this gift giving holiday season as well as any upcoming celebrated events. But like any toy in at this special time, supplies are limited and I recommend you find one soon before the shelves are empty.

Civilization Wars is a 2D online flash game not to be confused with Sid Meier’s popular PC series civilization. On the main menu you select from normal or hard modes, and on each of these you can see three stages, each one gets progressively harder than the last, and to unlock the next in the series you must complete the last. This game boasts terrific longevity and is not a game you will be able to complete in one sitting, so instead of starting over again every time which would make no sense developers have added a save and load button.

The first levels you come across are a tutorial; these are handy to play because they give you a feel of the game itself. Your strategy is to capture every building on the map, and to do this you must select your people and send them into battle. To assist you along the way you can regenerate your people by sending them into buildings. Other buildings replenishing your mana, which helps for magic attacks and some, will just act as a defence barrier between you and your enemy.

To see how many troops are in each one of your buildings, there is a small number above the building itself. To use these troops to attack an enemy building click on it, then drag and drop a building (or a selection of buildings) onto an enemy barracks. When you do this you will see your troops leave your building and enter the enemy buildings to battle. There are two outcomes here, either you are victorious and therefore, will gain the rights to the building or your adversary will slay all your troops, leaving you shorthanded and in danger.

Sometimes you can use all your troops and it is still not enough, so it is time to bring on the spells of magic to help you. You will find that the further you progress through the game, the more spells you unlock for use on harder levels. There are also a selection of other upgrades including upgrades to your troops attack and defences.

As you progress through the game you will come across some boss stages, however, these are no ordinary bosses like kings or knights, but instead are colossal animals. These animals bring a massive test to the game because they are particularly hard to defeat. If you find that you cannot defeat a stage, then you can go back to a previous battle to gain more experience. This is handy if you need to do it, but for a better gaming experience I suggest you try and defeat the stage without any help, even though it may not seem like it you can overcome all of the levels.

Unlike some other flash strategy games, where play is often one dimensional, Civilization Wars requires a lot of thought and imagination. If you are an avid strategy gamer you could do much worse than Civilization Wars.

Another addictive flash game worth playing is the ourworld avatar game, where you can create your own character online and play games in a virtual world.

You take on the role of a property appraiser who has been assigned to evaluate the ancient Malgrey Castle for the government, since no heir has claimed the property for 100 years. Unfortunately, the previous appraisers sent there by your boss have gone crazy. Now the job falls to you! Hopefully you will be able to perform your job without going mad, and learn more about the mysterious castle and what’s driving your colleagues insane.

When you arrive at Malgrey Castle, you find that things there are slightly peculiar. The heating hasn’t been turned on in 50 years, paintings are hidden behind curtains and cabinets have been boarded up. Time for you to get right into it and figure out what’s happening in the castle! Along the way, you will meet a colorful cast of characters including a butler who is obsessed with the internet, a goth maid who listens to music all day via her massive headphones, and a crazy groundskeeper who used to be president of the local blood donor’s union…

What gives Vampireville such a strong appeal and unique feel is its amazing storytelling. The story progresses chapter by chapter just as it would in a good mystery novel. And there is full voice-acting for all the dialogues and cutscenes. What’s surprising is that they have even included 3D animations of the characters and got them to act out the scenes! Oh, and the lead character looks suspiciously like Keanu Reeves…

The gameplay in Vampireville is more of a point-and-click adventure game than a traditional hidden object game. In each chapter, there are a few story-driven tasks that you have to accomplish. These are achieved by interacting with the environment and trying to find objects that work together to complete the task. For example, if a pipe needs to be repaired, you would need to find some welding equipment, a propane tank, a hose and some matches in order to get the job done.

There are also a few of the traditional hidden object scenes, though they are story-driven as well. When inspecting the guest room last occupied by your insane colleague, you are tasked to find all his belongings in addition to searching for clues as to what drove him insane. There are some unique hidden object puzzles in Vampireville though. When tasked with finding 3 rats, I was trying to search for rats that are cleverly blended into the background. I didn’t expect the rats to be suddenly appearing from a crack in the wall and scurrying across the floor! It’s not so much click a hidden object, but more like catch a moving object before it disappears!

In most other hidden object games, you are penalized for randomly clicking a scene. The opposite is true in Vampireville. Cupboards can be opened and curtains can be drawn. Random pieces of furniture or clutter can also be moved around to reveal hidden objects. Looking for a photograph? It might have fallen behind that dining chair…

There are plenty of other puzzles in the game as well, ranging from jigsaws to logic and memory puzzles. Fortunately, the developers have added a bit of originality and uniqueness to the puzzles, keeping them fresh and interesting. Rather than looking at two pictures and doing the old spot-the-differences thing, this time you have to look at two different pictures and try to spot the similarities!

Overall, Vampireville is a good hidden object and adventure hybrid game that stands out above the crowd. The effort put into the cutscenes, animation and voice-acting is something you don’t expect from games with this kind of budget (Oh, and the characters’ deadpan humor is hilarious as well). Try Vampireville for a nice mystery adventure where you get to be a hero and investigate ghosts and vampires!
